Ch. 14

In this chapter, Valentino talks about the time he was escaping Ethiopia. He described how he had crossed a river with hungry crocodiles in it. He had to convince many boys that they were not hungry and would not eat. It was very crucial that he gained their trust because that was the only way that he would be able to get the boys to cross. Many of the boys were extremely hungry and irritable but Valentino was very sympathetic and kept them content by talking to them about how their forthcomings and how their life will be better soon.
